Help us test Drop-In Sky & Weather and Drop-In Water before they ship
Two of our Unity assets are in beta now, from 4 November to 1 December 2026.
Both are for Unity 6.3 or newer with URP and a GPU with compute shaders. Drop-In Sky & Weather is a physically based sky with volumetric clouds, atmospheric fog, rain, snow and lightning, and the real sun, moon and stars: add it to a scene and it becomes the skybox and lights the scene. Drop-In Water gives a scene an ocean to the horizon, lakes and rivers, with shorelines baked from your terrain, rivers that dig their own bed, underwater views, floating objects and water queries for gameplay (no VR in version 1).
Who we're looking for
We're looking for 15 to 30 testers per asset with what we don't have: AMD, Intel and Apple GPUs; Direct3D 11, Vulkan and Metal; macOS and Linux; Unity 6.4 to 6.7; and your own scenes. For the sky, also Deferred and Deferred+, real PC VR headsets (multi-pass above all), mountains, towns and night skies; for the water, coasts made of meshes or scans, rivers into lakes or the sea, boats, and gameplay code that reads the water.
What testers do
Add the asset to one of your scenes in a copy of your project, and send screenshots and two short Profiler captures of a development build: about 1 to 2 hours for the sky, 2 to 3 for the water, plus your build time, between 4 November and 1 December 2026, on our private Discord.
What you get
Per asset: the package before launch; its private beta channels on the haVoila Studio Discord, where we look into what breaks in your scene before launch; credit in its documentation and changelog if you want it.
Licenses at launch: the Asset Store allows us 16 free licenses per asset per year; up to 10 of each asset's go to its most active testers, chosen by contribution (reports, benchmark/profiler runs, repro projects), never by whether or what you review. The license never depends on a review.
We pick testers for coverage, not first come, first served. Sign-ups for these two betas close on 1 November, and everyone gets an answer by 3 November.
About 10 minutes for one asset, 12 for two. One form for our three betas (Sky & Weather and Water now, the Terrain Renderer later): tick the ones you want. You must be 18 or older and have a Discord account.
